Not very much to post about lately so I haven’t. Work has been really busy lately, being the middle of summer and all.
Last week I went on an adventure over to Leavenworth and Cashmere – both towns here in WA. I have never really spent much time in either place, but wanted to check out Leavenworth a little more since I have been through but never really stopped to walk around.
It’s more geared toward the tourism so it’s not really my kind of place. I did stop at Heidleburger, a little drive-in burger joint. It was a decent burger but I was still hungry so I went to my favorite Mexican restaurant after a walk about town. It is called Taqueria El Chavo and I have written about it before. If you are ever that way it is very good and inexpensive. It is consistently rated 4-5/5 stars. The chorizo and carne asada ones are the two I get and you cannot go wrong with either one. Try the green salsa they make.It is delicious.
Yesterday I went to look at a new place to live. It was a great place but I went for a different one because it is closer to work so it cuts on commute time and cost over the other place but man…I really liked the other place I saw today. The new apartment has a Chinese restaurant right next door, busstop, library, pizza, postoffice and more all within a few minute walk.
I wasn’t sure how it would feel to me to rent again. It has been years since I have done it so it IS a bit odd to me, but I am actually really excited. Having my own kitchen again will be really nice and I cannot wait to cook again. The day was going to come when it happened and today was that day. It feels pretty good – I know where I will be for quite a while now.
I have no furniture so I need to get some things very shortly I guess. I have an airbed but I want a frame to put it on. No plates, glasses,…nothing much really but I do have cast iron pans and my nice aluminum set so I am good to go in that region. Close enough, but not too far away.
That’s all for today!
