Happy Festivus!

I’ve been laying low lately, resting up from last week’s driveathon. I’m not adjusting to the time zone difference very well yet so I end up staying up later than normal.

Its been pretty cold at night and starts to get that way as soon as the sun sets. Trailer is staying warm and I have my electric blanket to keep the chill off at night. I do run the furnace but the blanket helps me stay warm more consistently.

Hard to believe this year is almost over. It’s been an eventful year without a doubt. The heart attack and triple bypass not long afterwards were not just big events for the year, but seriously life-changing events for me that quill last forever. It kinda rocked me back on my heels but we must keep looking and moving forward.

I do find myself thinking about it more lately. Quite a bit more, actually. It’s certainly prompted me to take better care of myself and I’m feeling pretty good. I do miss eating some of the things I used to eat but actually not as much as you might think. When you have danced on the edge of the cliff and lived to tell the tale your priorities change, especially when your life depends on making those changes.

I have my diet under pretty good control so I have stopped entering my meals into the app. I quit logging my food about two weeks ago and I am doing very well with watching my meals with regards to calories and sodium & fat levels. I have gotten out walking and being a bit more active again, but I need to step that up. It is supposed to be 71 here on Friday & Saturday so I’ll definitely be out walking more.

But, the journey continues as I look forward to the new year. I hope to get the trailer out as soon as I can and the weather cooperates, but that won’t be for a few months at least. I might have gone to the Southwest, but since I came back from there and it cost a fortune I won’t be doing that again. I am looking forward to going east and seeing many new things and places in 2022.

With that, I close this post with wishing you all peace and happiness.

And stop being dicks to each other.

  1. I have to keep this short as Thursdays I do volunteer work and am heading out in a couple minutes. Have Will working with me too as he’s on Christmas Break.

Happy holidays to you and your family, extra scratches to your dog and a suggestion for book reading/listening for you. As I have read about your travels, I thought the book I’m reading now would be up your alley: Where the Deer and Antelope Play by Nick Offerman. A lover of the earth and keeping it away from big money as much as possible.
