I’m just not seeing this…or am I?

Been busy getting out and about lately. I went out with one group of friends and tried a new (to me) Italian restaurant and the pasta primavera was fantastic. To start it was delicious crusty bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I went out to a bar and got pizza with some other people and had a great time that night, too. Checked out some live music and much fun was had.

I got my taxes done yesterday. I had paperwork burn-out from taking care of all of the estate things from my Dad. I really wasn’t in the mood to do it, but I bit the bullet and took care of it so that’s off my plate. It has to be done and there is no getting out of it. Next I have to work on his taxes and that should be all of his paperwork completed. It’s not been too daunting taking care of all of the paperwork; but the emotional aspect is tough.

It’s been good getting back to my version of normal. I have outside more, getting exercise in and am keeping it up eating better. Today was a little cool but sunny and that was good to be out in. Not a cloud in the sky to be seen.

Had to reload my WaterMinder app as I had slacked off on drinking water every day like I should be doing. It nags you to drink until you get to the level you should be drinking. It is a very useful app and has made a difference in getting my levels up and a little more energy and less hungry so I’m losing a pound or two. Another plus.

Still anxious to get the trailer out, and today’s weather really made me want to go somewhere even more. Got a few things in the works – I just got a ticket for one, another is almost taken care of (this weekend it will be) and one other adventure I’ve just started looking at and working on. Like always, when I do these things they will be posted so you’ll have to come back and see what it is if you’re interested. You know you are!

Europe – Day 6 – January 30th, 2018: London, England

Artwork I saw on the way back from the laundrette – London, England

Today we got up early to go to the launderette. We were both out of clean clothes and this was a good day to do it since we had the opportunity. It was just a few blocks away but we had to get breakfast first so we went to a coffee shop we saw last night.

We went there after the sign we saw on the sidewalk said that they had a bacon breakfast sandwich. That was delicious and we both could have eaten another but we needed to get things done.

After laundry we took another walk around a different area close by. There are little shops and restaurants everywhere on every block.

We took a few minutes at our room and then we met up with another guy Jim knows named Nigel. He took time out of his day and took a three hour train ride (one way!) to meet us and give us a tour of historic music sites around London.

Jim and I walked over ten miles today and most of it was with Nigel. We saw several sites that you may have heard of…

How about Apple Corps. headquarters…the place that The Beatles filmed their infamous rooftop concert?

How about the famous fashion area called Carnaby Street?

And there is the famous EMI Records office building where The Beatles took the pictures looking down from a balcony for the red and blue albums (this is not the original building but is similar).

There was Piccadilly Circus…

…and a place Hendrix used to hang out at…

It was quite interesting to see these places that musicians frequented that I heard of when I was a kid.

While we were out we stopped for a pint and some fish and chips at an English pub. I really like these pubs and if I lived near one it would be a frequent hangout for the atmosphere. An occasional Guinness would be consumed as well I am certain.

Both ways we ride the London Underground. Some call it The Tube. Very convenient, but on the way back we got into rush hour and it was packed. I thought we would have to lube up to fit into the car. It was so packed I thought my asscheeks were going to get picked off when the doors shut.

Tomorrow we have the morning and part of the afternoon to go sightsee some more before we leave.

It’s going to be another great adventure!

Another Bucket List Addition

A few years back I wanted to go do something truly unique. I did not get to do it then, but the time is getting closer. Ladies and Gentlemen, please put your hands together for…

Burning Man.

Now, over the years I have had the opportunity to witness and do some pretty incredible things in life so it takes a little something to really get on my bucket list. I have talked about a few things but there’s more that I won’t bore anyone with here. The point is it needs to be something unique, something special, that once-in-a-lifetime experience. Just like one of my earlier postings where I got to fly in a B-17.

I just happened to see something about Burning Man a few times in the last few days, and the last time was just a few minutes ago in a kilt advertisement. It kinda made me think back about trying to go the first time.

A few years before I moved out of Colorado, my daughter Chelsea and I talked about going and had decided we wanted to do it but it was not meant to be. The Establishment kept us down. My work dicked me over and screwed around until it was too late for us to get tickets. Bastards. I never forgot that and we were pretty disappointed that we didn’t get to go. And I was quite ready to spend the money and we were going.

It would be cool if all of my daughters and their guys could go! That would be such a trip to see and there’s the look on each other’s faces… It’d be shockingly awesome. I am sure that it would be quite an eye-opening and enlightening experience for all of us. I have a feeling some of them would rather go to Hawaii or Vegas instead of the desert in August. I can see that logic…

What a hell of an adventure though! Oh, the memories that could be made! Oh, the tribalness of it (Is that even a word?!?! You know what I mean though!)!

I am going to have to figure out a way to get there in the next couple of years. I have to remember to get in on time to be able to get tickets one year and get there. I need to set a reminder for next year when they go on sale. That gives me time to figure out how to prepare oneself for something like that as best as one can, I don’t know if my trailer should be tossed into those conditions. That kind of sand and wind could really wreak havoc on it. Buying an old RV might be the best – just use it and then sell it.

Anyway, that’s the newest addition to the ever-growing bucket list!

9lbs. 15 oz.

Adventure, Just things

Well, the newest addition to the family has finally arrived! Rowan is her name.

And yes, you read that weight right in the title. Just one ounce shy of 10 pounds.

After sleeping two hours or so last night during my travels and struggling to stay awake all day that was a much-needed jolt to perk right up.

That’s pretty much all I have the energy to post right now.

I got to snap a few nice shots lately and I thought I would share them. These were taken on my iPhone 6.

Ahhh...the Mountains!

Such a beautiful place

These phones nowadays have amazing cameras in them. For no bigger than what they are they really put many regular cameras to shame. The video that they can take is even better, and that is just the stock app. Add to that all the other editing apps you can get Рand many for free Рand you can do some amazing things with your photos.

The top one is my favorite of the three. That is the actual picture and not re-touched.
